At PyroMedia we know one truth: Kids don’t realize how much they are learning when they are having fun. Times Table Lab is a perfect way for kids to learn their times tables.

The game works like this:

-In the Lab, numbered balls drop down and the player needs to move them to the right place on the times table. For example: 9 goes to 3x3, while 12 can go to 3x4, 4x3, 6x2 or 2x6. A new ball drops every few seconds.

-The game starts at a 5x5 times table and works through levels up to a 12x12 times table

-The players get a point for every correct answer PLUS a point for each second left on the clock at the end of each level. For each completed level they get an extra life

-The game ends when players run out of lives (by putting balls in the wrong place) OR when there are 5 balls backed up on the left of the screen.

This is a great way for kids to learn their times tables because instead of rote learning they get to factor back to the times table from the answer – with many numbers that have multiple factors they also learn the relationship between them.

And it’s fun.

Latest reviews of Times Table Lab app for iPhone and iPad

more than "linear"
Kids (and anybody for that matter) can manipulate (work with...and therefore grow in understanding) more than just "linear" multiplication problems. To use the term linear uniquely. I looked and looked for something like this, and was pleased to find it. Thanks. Hope you will expand.
Nice app!
This is a lot of fun and the kids dont even know theyre learning. Thanks. Only change I would ask for (well, maybe two changes): 1) give kids the chance to select the level they want to play (including tables lower than 5x); 2) allow multiple players to save their levels and go back to continue advancing through the levels at their own rate. LOVE this app (I think Ill be playing more than the kids).
